Keep an eye on these temporary stairs, they won’t be here for long. They’re just placeholders while we build, and soon they’ll be replaced with floating stairs rising through this vestibule. To make this modern, open second floor work, we needed steel beams, more than the house next door ever required. Some of these are what we call “suicide beams,” which can’t be set until the concrete is fully poured to anchor the posts.
